Contribute a Pedigree

MITOFAM aims to assist researchers in exploring the inheritance patterns of mitochondrial DNA variants and the associations between genotype and phenotype, thereby facilitating the diagnosis and treatment of individuals carrying mitochondrial DNA variants.

**All data presented in MITOFAM have been anonymized.**

## Criteria
To ensure the quality and relevance of the data, we require that each submission meet the following criteria:

1.  **Genetic confirmation** – The family includes at least one individual who has undergone genetic testing and is confirmed to carry a mitochondrial DNA variant.
    
2.  **Clinical symptoms** – Detailed clinical manifestations are provided for the individual(s).
    
3.  **Association** – The clinical symptoms are suspected to be associated with the identified mtDNA variant.

4.  **Ethical compliance:** You have received appropriate ethical approval and informed consent has been obtained from the individual(s) carrying the variant.

I am writing to submit pedigree data for inclusion in the MITOFAM database. The data pertain to a family with mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) variants associated with clinical symptoms. Below are the details of my submission:
